On Friday, March 14, 2025, an internationalization seminar was held as part of faculty and staff training (FD/SD). The seminar was co-hosted by the Teikyo University Global Initiative Office and the Headquarters Human Resources Division and was open to all faculty and staff at Itabashi Campus in person and at the Hachioji, Utsunomiya, Fukuoka, and Kasumigaseki campuses.
The purpose of this seminar is for each faculty and staff member to understand the social and economic background behind the internationalization of Japanese universities, as well as the current state of internationalization at our university and its future direction.
The event began with an opening address by Executive Director and Vice President Hiroko Okinaga, followed by a guest speaker, Professor Hiroshi Ota of the Hitotsubashi University Center for University-Wide Education, who gave a speech on the theme of "Trends Surrounding the Internationalization of Japanese Universities: Challenges and Opportunities." In addition, Chairman and President Yoshihito Okinaga delivered a video message outlining the direction of the university's internationalization, after which Global Initiative Office gave speeches to each faculty member and staff member on the current state and challenges of internationalization, as well as future developments.
In order to take internationalization, which has been Educational Guidelines since the university was founded, to the next stage, we will further utilize the power of a comprehensive university. We will continue to provide support and activities to nurture students, faculty and staff who are aware of their connection to the global society and take action on their own.
