On Thursday, April 3, 2025, Teikyo University held the Teikyo University New Year Commemorative International Lecture 2025-Department of Data Science Opening Ceremony at Teikyo University Itabashi Campus.
University of Oxford The lecture, "Cyber threats to healthcare and the medical sector in the age of artificial intelligence," was given by Mr. Robert Hannigan of Wadham School (UK) President, who came to Japan to attend the 2025 entrance ceremony of Teikyo University as an overseas guest of honor. While AI is revolutionizing diagnosis and treatment in the medical sector, he pointed out that there are risks of data falsification and false information. information risks, the lecture reminded the audience of the importance of cybersecurity and the need for countermeasures. From the University, Faculty of Science and Engineering Dean Masayuki Arai and Graduate School of Public Health Professor Yoshinori Nakata took the stage to discuss the opening of Faculty of Science and Engineering Department of Data Science and the importance of cybersecurity and the impact of the advancement of AI technology on cybersecurity. The event was a great success, with more than 100 participants, including online participants from various TUFS campuses.
