Educational Purposes

In accordance with the School Philosophy, the Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology has a purpose to train medical especialists who acquired the specialized knowledge, skills, culture and ethics necessary as a member responsible for advanced medical care, has abundant humanity and creativity, and can contribute to regional medical care. 

Three policies of Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology

The Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology aims to develop medical engineers who can contribute to regional medical care with the specialized knowledge and skills necessary as a member responsible for advanced medical care, as well as abundant humanity and creativity. A degree is awarded to those who have acquired the following abilities and have completed the prescribed credits.

  1. Have an ability to acquire the basic knowledge and skills necessary as a professional medical technician and effectively put this into practice on actual medical site.

In order to enable students to acquire the skills set out in the degree awarding policy, Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology has organized its curriculum according to the following policies.

  1. General Education include those that allow students to acquire the ethics, communication skills, International perspectives, and other rich humanity required of medical technicians.
  2. In the specialized basic field, in order to acquire the specialized knowledge and skills necessary for medical engineers, we arrange subjects related to basic medicine and clinical medicine which are the basis of the acquisition, and specialized field subjects systematically.
  3. In specialized fields, in addition to exercises and practical training, off-campus clinical training and clinical training are effectively arranged in order to develop practical skills.
  4. In order to promote the independent learning of diverse students, we arrange special elective courses in liberal arts and specialized fields.

In accordance with the objectives of Faculty of Fukuoka Medical Technology, Department of Physical Therapy aims to train physical therapists who, as members of the medical profession, can acquire specialized knowledge and skills in various areas of physical therapy, have a proactive and cooperative attitude based on rich humanity, and can restore physical functions while contributing to local medical care with a perspective of prevention and health promotion.

Department of Physical Therapy aims to train physical therapists who, as members of the medical community, can contribute to community medical care from the perspective of prevention and health promotion while also working to restore physical functions. A degree will be awarded to those who have acquired the following abilities and completed the required number of credits.

  1. Can build relationships of trust through communication that respects others with a wide range of interests in culture, society and nature, and a high sense of ethics as a medical professional.

In the specialized basic field, we arrange subjects related to the structure, function and development of the human body such as basic medicine and kinesiology, related to diseases and disorders such as clinical medicine, clinical psychology, pharmacy and emergency lifesaving, and related to multidisciplinary collaboration.
  3. In the field of specialization, we arrange subjects related to physiotherapy such as locomotor system, nervous system, and respiratory circulatory metabolism system systematically by combining lectures, exercises, and practical training, and clinical trainings are arranged according to the progress of the grade. In addition, elective courses are placed in the 3rd and 4th grades.

In the field of specialization, subjects for promoting health and well-being through work-focused treatment, guidance, and assistance for clients are systematically arranged by combining lectures and exercises.   3. In the specialized foundation field, we offer courses that utilize specialized knowledge and techniques to develop evidence-based nursing practice skills for people at all health levels, from disease prevention to recovery and health promotion.
  4. In specialized fields, there will be practical and training courses to develop skills related to nursing, public health nurses, and midwife.
  5. In specialized fields, nursing research subjects are provided to develop the ability to seek out new knowledge useful for nursing practice, understand the process of scientific problem-solving techniques, and contribute to the improvement of nursing.
